What works today?
Email in and out, two-way texting, and PDF fax, all in one queue. Drafts wait for approval, approved info versions, opt-outs, and delivery tracking (including bounces and complaints) are built. Phone calls, scanned postal mail from VirtualPostMail or Stable, printed letters sent through Lob, automatic agent drafting, and connecting an existing Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox come next.
Do I have to move my email?
No. VisiComms gives you an address to forward customer email to, and replies go out from your own verified domain. Your existing mailbox stays where it is.
Will an agent send messages without me?
Not unless you decide it should. Agent drafting is on the way, and drafts wait for a person. Every approval covers the exact text and recipient you saw, so it can’t be stretched to cover something else.
What does the hosted price include?
$25 a month per workspace covers hosting, updates, backups, email sending, and everyone on your team. Texts and faxes go through your own SignalWire account, so SignalWire bills you for numbers and messages directly. Printed letters will work the same way through your own Lob account. We don’t mark any of it up.
Is it really open source?
Yes. The whole product, including approvals and the provider integrations, will be open source. Self-host it free with Docker Compose and Postgres, using Resend or Amazon SES for email and SignalWire for texts and fax. The public source release is coming soon.
Can healthcare practices use it?
Yes. We sign a business associate agreement (BAA) for hosted workspaces. Texts and faxes run through your own SignalWire account, so put a BAA in place with SignalWire as well. Self-hosting keeps patient data on infrastructure you control.
How do people sign in?
With passkeys only. There are no passwords to reuse, phish, or reset.
Does it work with VisiConvert?
They’re separate products and each works on its own. A connection is planned so the calls and inquiries VisiConvert tracks can be answered in VisiComms.
